Credit Management Practice Update 5

This year, the BvCM’s Credit Management Praxis Update took place for the fifth time on September 10, 2013, in the Auto City of Wolfsburg. The event opening, attended by 40 guests from across Germany, was performed by the regional coordinator Mr. Andreas Lüer.

PASCHEN provided information in respect to legal and association policies related to innovations. Initially,  attorney at law Lutz Paschen, presented a brief overview on the current status regarding the implementation of the 2011/7/EU Directive on combating late payments in commercial transactions. Furthermore, he elaborated the draft law’s impact on Credit Management. At the following lecture, attorney at law Michael Schmidt explained the objectives of the new reform on consumer insolvency. In this regard, he provided detailed insight into the reduction of the discharge of residual debt and the modifications made to its proceedings.

After a break giving an opportunity to benefit from some intense networking, Prof. Dr. Matthias Schumann from the University of Göttingen demonstrated the Credit Managements’ contribution to the assessment of customer value.

Comprehensive information on current matters regarding credit insurance and the latest developments, especially in view of the insolvency of PRAKTIKER, were provided by Michael Timmermann from AON Credit International, completing the BvCM Credit Management Praxis Update.

Lastly, Sascha Harland from Creditreform Braunschweig closed the event by announcing the next event scheduled for spring 2014.
